Digg users – Wordpress doesn’t suck
One of the major things I hear from Digg users is that Wordpress sucks. Well guess what guys? It doesn’t. The only reason you think it sucks is because most of the time Wordpress sites that are linked from Digg immediately crash. The reason is that these sites are not running the Word Press Cache Plugin. This plugin effectively turns Wordpress from a dynamic database driven web site into a static .html web site. This works by reducing php and mysql queries and instead displaying a cached static version. Does this work? Yes. I had 3,500 Digg visitors in one hour with the Word Press Cache Plugin and the site had great performance. You do need to make sure that your hosting account is not one of these $3 a month for 1 Gig of bandwidth accounts though or your site will max out on bandwidth usage.
So Digg users it really isn’t Wordpress that sucks, it is people that don’t have enough bandwidth ($10 or more a month) hosting accounts or have not bothered to install the Word Press Cache Plugin.
Now can this site take 30,000 people in one hour? I think so. Let’s give it a try….
