MySpace announced a safety plan. This huge social network has been the target of many lawsuits, police investigations, and criminal activities. This safety plan is more of an protection for them than anything else yet I applaud it. The MySpace saftey plan will include safety for minors and target harrassment, bullying, identity theft, and pornography. Additional educational efforts and cooperation with law enforcement will be included. The biggest change will be a new age verification and identity verification (yes that is right identity verification) system. The Multi-State Working Group on Social Networking is led by attorneys. Some recent hot topics include the large number of criminals with profiles on MySpace.
