Sucky Wikipedia, the Bell Knols for Thee
Google announced that they will be starting their own competitor to Wikipedia. Unlike Wikipedia the articles will be written by authority authors. The author’s name will be very visible. Author’s can also share in revenue from Google adsense ads on the articles.
Look out Wikipedia, you are dead and here is why:
1. Google support and traffic and rankings will disappear and your visitors will be instantly reduced
2. The Wikipedia system is plagued by personal attacks and spam
3. The Wikipedia editors are teenagers and college kids that are themselves corrupt
4. Anyone can write or delete anything at any time on Wikipedia and automatic and manual restorations have to be constantly made taking time and computer resources away from other productive tasks
5. The Google Knol has both financial and fame incentives which will result in higher quality articles
6. Google is most interested in the highest quality results for their visitors. The Wikipedia results are either crap, spammed, or negotiated and compromised into a general consensus article that is often wrong
7. Wikipedia is dependant on donations, Google has billions of dollars to throw at it and billions more to make from Knols
8. The Wikipedia site and software itself is clumsy, confusing, buggy, and a sucks
9. I am sorry but Wikipedia is a terrible name. Not that Knol is better
