Windows 7 Come Soon

October 17th, 2008 admin No comments

Windows Vista is stable but it has a lot of bugs and a lot of crazy things. I want Windows 7 now. Steve Ballmer announced that Windows 7 is based on Vista but will have some fixes making it a lot better. On the plus side this is good for compatibility. But I think the announcement disappointments many people. You may have noticed that Microsoft recently released XP Service Pack 3. So I think they expect many users to hold out for Windows 7.

So the new iPod nano 4g will be out soon. Yawn. Why does anyone even care? 4g is like nothing and all it does is play media. Why wouldn’t someone just by the new iPhone? I have little respect for people so defendant upon music. I mean what is point of constantly listening to music? It is like an escape and an addiction just like anything else.

Firefox 3.1 is coming out soon. The biggest question is how will it respond to Google Chrome. One of the newest features is support for HTML 5 and CSS 3 including the HTML 5 video. This alpha version is code named Shiretoko. There should also be some improvements in performance of Firefox 3.1 with the TraceMonkey engine. It should be pretty cool.

So in case you didn’t hear Samsung is thinking of acquiring SanDisk

September 5th, 2008 admin No comments

So in case you didn’t hear Samsung is thinking of acquiring SanDisk. I am worried about this because SanDisk makes excellent products that I have long thought were superior in quality and low prices. I am afraid that Samsung Electronics will not merge well with SanDisk resulting in higher prices. The primary reason for Samsung is to reduce their NAND flash memory licensing costs. This screams to me that SanDisk products as we know them will cease to exist.

The problems seems to be a permissions issue. Those who have crashes have a long wait. Oh iPhone you are screwing it up.

I have been thinking of switching from Sprint to Verizon

August 15th, 2008 admin No comments

I have been thinking of switching from Sprint to Verizon. Verizon was recently ranked number one by J.D. Power in customer service. They actually solve problems. I am less than impressed with Sprint customer service. Now if only all the carriers would do away with those pesky contracts and early termination fees.

There is some kind of attack happening to Facebook

There is some kind of attack happening to Facebook. A malware worm is all over the network. The Facebook wall posts are infected. If you see a picture of a jester sticking out his toungue then you have it. The trojan most likely allows for other viruses or spyware to be downloaded. Social networks may be the new hotspots for phising, spam, spyware, and viruses.
