Be prepared to switch hosting providers ALWAYS
I have said before that choosing the right web host is important and so is having a backup plan. Here is why:
Web Host NaviSite notified that service would be down for 12 hours for a server move. Well guess what. All of the 165,000 web sites were down for over 120 hours. That is right. An unheard of 5 day outage. One day 2 I would have moved everything over to a different host. The worst part is that 300 of the customers were resellers reselling service to other companies. This means that their web hosting business is completely screwed. Everyone will drop them and tons of money will be lost. This is shameful and embarrising and unprofessional. You should never ever use this host.
